The band got its beginning in 1989, shortly after the split of Roberto Antunes’ former band, Túmulo de Ferro. Regardless of the instability in line-up and all the difficulties that a new band faces, they managed to publicize their work through demotapes and doing several gigs in brazilian underground scene.
DEADLINESS plays a kick-ass Thrash Metal, with strong influences of Heavy Metal. Some of the bands that had the greatest impact on the group’s sound are Sepultura, Overdose, Korzus, Slayer, Black Sabbath, AC / DC, Megadeth, Exodus, Judas Priest, among many other sacred monsters of metal.
Of several released work, the ones wich deserve greater emphasis are: Dark Warriors, released in 2000; Living in The War, 2001; and the latest work, GUERREIROS DO METAL, that came up in March 2014, with ten compositions, sung in both Portuguese and English. The whole DEADLINESS work is independently produced.
Current lineup includes Roberto Antunes, guitars and vocals (the only one remaining from original lineup); Igor Antunes, guitars; Icaro Antunes, bass; and Braulio Assunção,drums. Pointing out that Igor and Icaro Antunes are sons of the band founder and vocals, Roberto Antunes, which makes this thrash metal family one of the pillars of Brazilian Extreme Metal.
A banda teve seu início em 1989, logo após a saída do guitarrista Roberto Antunes de sua antiga banda, Túmulo de Ferro. Com instabilidade na formação e todas as dificuldades que uma banda iniciante enfrenta, conseguiram divulgar o trabalho através das demotapes e fazendo vários shows no cenário underground nacional, em diversos estados.
O estilo da DEADLINESS é um Thrash Metal, marcado por fortes influências do Heavy Metal. As bandas que mais influenciaram a sonoridade dos mineiros de Itaúna são Sepultura, Overdose, Korzus, Slayer, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Megadeth, Exodus, Judas Priest, dentre muitos outros monstros sagrados do Metal.
Dos vários trabalhos lançados, merecem maior destaque os Dark Warriors, lançado em 2000; Living in The War, de 2001; e o mais recente trabalho, GUERREIROS DO METAL, lançado em março de 2014, com dez composições cantadas em português e Inglês. Toda a obra da DEADLINESS é de produção independente.
A atual formação conta com Roberto Antunes, Guitarra e vocal (único remanescente da formação original), Ígor Antunes na Guitarra, Ícaro Antunes no Baixo e Braulio Assunção na Bateria. Ressaltando que Ígor Antunes e Ícaro Antunes são filhos do fundador e vocal da banda, Roberto Antunes, o que faz desta família Metal um dos pilares do metal extremo mineiro.
